He leaves before I get up in the morning. He travels for work 3 to 4 days many weeks. We both work full time so most evenings one of us comes home late from work (close to 8). Then most nights that we are home we still have work to do and we sit at our desks for another hour after the kids go to bed. Then 2 to 3 evenings a week one of our kids has a evening sports or ballet (Nutcracker) practice that goes to 7:30 so we're not home until 8 on those nights. Right now 2 of the kids have basketball practice (different nights but both end at 7:30). Then about once every other week I try to go out with girlfriends in the evening (otherwise I have no friend contact). Then on Saturdays we're up at 7am for sports stuff and on Sundays it's church.
And I feel like we're 100% the norm of everyone I know in my neighborhood and at our school in NW DC except my husband travels a lot LESS than most of my friend's husbands and I don't travel for work!! Most of the families I know have 2 traveling partners and the kids are busier than ours.
I think maybe in part it's just the stage of life. We definitely saw each other more when the kids were younger (toddler/preschool age). Now our few spare moments are taken up with kid activity stuff. That and work travel.

Anonymous wrote:My wife is constantly falling asleep on the couch after the kids have been put to bed but before they go to sleep. So bedtime definitely has an impact on our sex lives.
She's just a sleepy person - gets about 9 hours of sleep per night. She has also imposed rules on sex over the years where she doesn't want to have sex in the morning, doesn't want to be woken up for sex, and doesn't want to have sex while the kids might interrupt us. So, our window for sex is very narrow.

Go away.
Why should I " go away"? I simply answered the question. Don't be bitter because your wife isn't giving it to you much.

Hang in there. I went through long sexless stretches when my kids were younger. Exhaustion was part of it, I'm sure.
Now the kids are teens and sex is 2-3 times a week. Of course I may just be a proxy for the celeb she spends all day crushing on when I'm at work.
