And I feel like we're 100% the norm of everyone I know in my neighborhood and at our school in NW DC except my husband travels a lot LESS than most of my friend's husbands and I don't travel for work!! Most of the families I know have 2 traveling partners and the kids are busier than ours.
I think maybe in part it's just the stage of life. We definitely saw each other more when the kids were younger (toddler/preschool age). Now our few spare moments are taken up with kid activity stuff. That and work travel.
We both took slower paced jobs, and limit our kids' activities. I would be very unhappy not eating dinner at least 4 or 5 nights a week with all the family. My kids are teenagers.

I also find it interesting that the ones who have sex everyday- especially in the shower or in the morning, and have little kids- aren't being interrupted all the time. For example, I know my three year old has a sixth sense as to when I am awake in the mornings, and she often wakes up if I am awake. Not saying its impossible, I just have a hard time imagining that. Or if you have teenagers who don't go to bed until 10 and you are having sex every night, don't they hear you/know what you are doing especially if you are doing it like clockwork?

Sorry, but your life sucks. I have older children who play sports (two for one this winter!) and am a two income home and my life is nothing like you describe. My older child was at bball practice until 9 last night and we banged one out by 10pm and went to sleep.

So, our window for sex is very narrow.
I could have written this, same story here for sure. When the miracle window does actually present itself - how is she in bed?

Some people are just always busy busy busy doing lots of stuff (like typing a lengthy response), but somehow they never accomplish their intended goal (like answering either of the thread title questions). Know anybody like that?

4-year old goes to bed at 9 pm. We rarely have sex (nothing to do with him). DH has MS, which dampened the libido big time. Haven't had sex for 3 years since DS was born, have been making a little effort recently. I'm pregnant with #2, so that will probably invite another break.

Hang in there. I went through long sexless stretches when my kids were younger. Exhaustion was part of it, I'm sure.
Now the kids are teens and sex is 2-3 times a week. Of course I may just be a proxy for the celeb she spends all day crushing on when I'm at work.
Another dude here. I hope we can get back to 2-3 times a week. Kids won't be teenagers for a while though...
I don't care who DW thinks about! Whenever there's an opportunity to watch Brad Pitt I encourage my wife to. Sometimes it works!
