Let it go. Don't call. You're not going back.

Correct. I hate it when salons do this. Mine was in McLean. She routinely ran two or three people at one time. I learned over time to call to confirm my 1:30 an hour ahead and was always told "X is running late, come instead at 2:00" and she would be still running late. I now go somewhere else. Vote with your feet. And Yelp to warn others.

What are frosted tips?

They could have cancelled it when you called, so there was no reason for anyone to be snippy with you.

The place I used to get my hair cut was always at least 30 minutes late. I am normally a punctual person, but I started showing up a little late. I stopped going. At some point you realize that they schedule it that way (too many people - they know they can't do them all). Maybe it is because they expect cancellations. Maybe they just want to make more money. But I do not blame you for what you said.

This is the OP. Actually, I wasn't that snippy. And I seriously did wonder. . .if they fail to *show up* for their appointment with me, there is no problem, but if I do it, they charge me?

I agree with this, but OP called to let them know she was running late. At that point the salon should have told her to reschedule if they could not accommodate her. She did the right thing. She didn't just show up late and expect to be accommodated.

+1

OP gave them an out. They chose to keep the appointment. Their problem, not OP's.

Who speaks like this? "Dafuq?" REALLY? Should OP have been getting a weave? Would that have made the story better for you?

OP called and said she was running late. If the salon could not accommodate her, they should have said so and told her to reschedule.

OP, if you love the salon and the service, speak to the manager about the rude gatekeeper of a receptionist. If you were going to throw their schedule off so terribly, they should have told you over the phone but you should not have had to wait so long and then be scolded by someone who answers phones for a living and who was obviously on a power trip.
