Yes, I do. Maybe it's cultural. Everyone in our family calls their in laws mom and dad.

I studiously avoid using any name for them at all! My kid saved me because now I can call them grandma and grandpa!

I'm actually surprised at how FEW people on this thread do this. I thought it was much more common.
I call mine mom and dad, no problem. In fact my in-laws also refer to one another as Mom, Dad, even "your mother" when in the presence of their children-in-law only. 4 kids and all the in-law kids call them mom and dad.
DH on the other hand, calls my parents by their first names, as that is what he's most comfortable with. I don't think either set of parents care either way.

Nope. I call my inlaws by their first names. I have a mom and a dad that I am close to, and it would be too strange for me to call someone else by those names.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels it's weird. DH's mom mentioned that I could call her mom via email correspondence shortly after we got married but also said it's ok if I choose not to do so. Really weirded me out but I thought maybe my feelings would change over time. 1.5 years later and I am not there yet.
