It's even worse than that. I once saw a St. Pat's parent picking on a Beauvoir PK student. When the Beauvoir student's father made his way over to interject, the St. Pat's parent kicked his walker right out from under him.

After reading through this thread, I would say that Beauvoir and St Patrick's parents (students) deserve each other.

Ridiculous. Folks claiming "St Pats parents with kids who move on to St Albans bad mouth Beauvoir" are absolutely full of it. I have never, ever heard a St Pats parent in any way bad mouth or denigrate Beauvoir or it's students. In fact, if you hear any thing mean spirited said in this regard, it's the Beauvoir parents who say families only choose St Pats if they can/don't get in to Beauvoir.

St Pats families are generally quite proud of and happy with the education their kids get, especially if they end up at their first choice school next. That basically sums up the families who move on to the close after 3rd, 7th or 9th at St Pats.

While I have kids at both schools, I would not call St. Pats a feeder in the traditional sense of having actual academic institutional ties to STA/NCS. That distinction is Beauvoir's alone.

I would say that, after the largest influx from Beauvoir at 4th, St Pats is the independent school which sends the next largest number of students on to STA/NCS cumulatively. This is not a trend that will diminish anytime soon. In fact, it continues to increase year over year.

St Pats parents do not put down any parents. I don't know anyone ever who had something bad to say about another school. I suspect a troll. The only thing that may be true is someone may opt for St. Pats purely because they don't want to make a next decision on school after third grade. Also, not everyone wants to go to St Albans. Doesn't mean it is not a wonderful school. It is but it isn't the only school. That would be another reason for not going to Beauvoir. Even that I am told is changing since some Beauvoir families are opting not to send on to Cathedral schools. As for the original flaming post. St. Pats does have a feeder rep to the Cathedral schools because it is Episcopalian and yes there is a relationship. There is the same relationship at WES and Grace etc etc. This would not make the school a Beauvoir which does early application but would be more helpful than a primary school that wasn't Episcopalian. Does this make sense.

Although the quoted post is in poor taste, I'm sure the St. Albans admissions officers have better things to do (and better judgement) than to (a) hang out on DCUM; (b) compile a list of comments in poor taste allegedly coming from parents at another school; and (c) take retribution the next year against children from that school for the alleged bad attitude of the parents at that school.

It's really about the kids. What the parents do or don't do doesn't make a difference, as much as we all might like to think that our grace and wit during the admissions process will tip the scales.

I disagree with this, as creating a strong community comes from the families and parents as much as from the students. If you have parents badmouthing their fellow class students, as has been done by St. Pat's families that say very derogative things about the Beauvoir students (before and even after they have been admitted to STA) then yes that would affect the sense of community negatively. Btw you don't have to read DCUM to have heard these things.
