People sue when they have no insurance and need to come up with $10,000 to pay medical expenses, (or more) Or in the event they have a high deductible, and can't or don't want to pay it.
1) People often sue because they see an injury as a free payday.
2) Even if someone sued because they didn't have insurance, it's still ridiculous. If your kid breaks a bone playing at my house, and you don't have insurance, that's your own damn fault (assuming I didn't cause the broken bone by pushing your kid out of a tree or something). I don't care if my homeowners insurance pays for it, I would still be furious. It's YOUR responsibility to get health insurance for your child and YOUR responsibility to pay the bills when they get hurt.
