I shower during naps, in the evening or if I am stuck and need the infant to be with me I put them in their tub with water and just leave them to play (kidding). I feel their little tub with water and put them in the shower with me. I then wash their hair and bath them and let them finish playing for their bath time while I finish showering myself. Eyes never leave the child and they are within my reach at all time. I may not be able to do this for much longer as she can now stand alone and may start trying to stand in the bath soon, but it has worked for the few times I needed to shower and the baby also needed a bath and we were short on time.

Works for my 7.5 month old for a 10-15 minute shower. (I peek through our shower glass or sing to her to keep her smiling.) My sister had one that my nephew continued to use until he was 3 or so (it converts to a regular chair by pulling the straps through the back), so it may be something that you can use for a while.

I would just time your showers during her nap times and shower when she is napping in her crib.

If that is not an option, perhaps put her in her pack 'n play w/a few toys that she only gets to play w/during this time, that way they have some novelty effect.

Or you might just have to shower at night when she is sleeping.

Mom for this. So simple but my 9 month old loves sitting in a laundry basket with some household objects (SO over actual toys these days). When he was a little younger I rolled a towel up behind him. He's content for 15-20 min in there

OP I know that you're getting defensive about all the people who are poking a bit of fun at your dilemma, but it's because those of us who have children older than yours know that a baby leaning over the side of the bouncy seat is just the beginning. Wait until you have a mobile crawling or walking baby or toddler, and then you really will have to do something like one of the suggestions you didn't like. Either shower when baby is sleeping, partner is home, or put in pack and play or crib, or completely babyproof your bathroom so they can play in there while you shower. I found that an awake baby or toddler in the crib, PNP or bathroom did not go well, and it was worth a 10 minute shower to not listen to the crying. Bonus is that after bed time my showers are not so rushed and I can even dry my hair afterwards. Whatever solution you figure out for this problem won't last long.

FWIW, I used a bouncy seat, exersaucer, PNP, crib, and by 7 months, realized that showering when baby is awake and I'm home alone just wouldn't work.

I also have a 7 month old third child. I put him in the jolly jumper in the bathroom doorway so that I can shower!

how about a doorway jumper? you can put it right in the bathroom doorway.

I'm pretty sure my first child could already escape the bimbo and the bouncy seat by that point. I think she could still do the exersaucer for a little while longer.

By that age, though, I generally had to get up before anyone else of I wanted to do a shower where I washed my hair. Nighttime showers do NOT work for me. If my hair is even the slightest bit wet when I lay down, it looks like hell in the morning (I have ridiculously thick hair). So, I was up at the buttcrack of dawn showering before anyone else in the house was awake. Granted, I was also working then.
