I had been spending 300 dollars a month on activities and classes for the previous two years and 200 dollars a month from ages 2 to 3. I went back and looked how much I spent one rainy day and it came out to almost 12,000 dollars! I didn't send my youngest to any classes and put the 12,000 dollars into a 529 for him.

Yep. They don't remember any of it until they are older. A family member of mine spends a ton on sports for her two year old.... waste of money.

I don't think it was a waste but they add up. We always did gymnastics and for the gross motor skills I found it good. Karate for little ones has been a huge waste and we are dropping it. Love it but not for $40 a class for group classes plus testing.

What age was a waste for karate? Considering signing up my 4 year old

+1 I bought the high end one and I think I could have done fine with a lower end model that was refurbished.

We absolutely love out Vitamix. We got the top end model and use it at least once a day. I've made all sotrs of things in it.

45K to redo the kitchen....we were talked into a non-functional design.

We needed new countertop, sink, and floor....5k or so max....we ended up with cherry cabinets to replace our perfectly fine oak cabinets.

We pullout everything, and replaced them with the same dysfunctional layout.

They aren't going to the olympics at 2. That isn't the idea.

The idea is to have them doing something beyond learning letters, colors and numbers and building a little coordination.

I don't regret a dime of the money we have spent on these things.

1.) High end appliances...they didn't preform any better and had a shorter shelf life then my middle of the line maytag ones beforehand. I am a pretty decent cook so I thought I would be able to tell a difference and really enjoy them but it just wasn't the case.
2.) Montessori preschool for DC 1 and 2. It was not a bad school, just super over priced. I found a little church basement preschool for DC 3 that did the exact same thing for about 60% less.

I absolutely hate my Samsung dishwasher. The only cycle that cleans anything is "heavy". I started it this morning at 10am and it is STILL RUNNING AT NEARLY 1 PM. The prongs also make for awkward placement of dishes/pans. I was SO much happier with our Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher in our previous home but DH wanted all Samsung.

Samsung is considered high end for appliances?

Yes, they are trying to get in the high end market. It will take a few years but eventually they will perfect it and give the high end companies a run for their money. Basically what they did for washer/driers and fridges.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the high end refrigerator people don't lose sleep over Samsung nipping at their heels.
