I get a hair cut 1-2 times a year. It's usually $70 including tip.

I just turned 38. I have a wrinkly forehead and a skinny, pale and dry face that started showing aging rather early. And believe it or not, I'm extremely low key as far as clothing and makeup, so this is not a "boob job"-type work, just maintenance.

Thanks for answering. I'm 34 but oily as sin (Italian-American) so I was thinking of it from that perspective. I can't say I haven't thought about botox at some point if I get beetle-browed -- you only need it once a year? Is it painful? Do you like the results? Can they use less since you're pretty young?

I go to Roche Salon in Georgetown. My cut there is $65, plus tip. I don't get a shampoo first though, and I'm the PP with the long, straight all one lenth hair.

$40 every 8 weeks or so for a cut.

No make up, no hair color any more (that was DIY and $6.99 every 6 weeks). Now I am 50, I am letting it go gray.

I use regular lotion, but the whole family uses it so I don't know how much I spend per year. Same for shampoo and conditioner.

I do go to the Dermatologist every year and she usually takes two or three moles. That is $60 for two visits, $90 for three depending on the follow up required.

I do get a pedicure every so often, but haven't had one since last December. Manicures don't last 48 hours on me. I used to go with my mom at the beach, but she passed away in March and I just can't bring myself to go.

Once a year I get a facial on my annual weekend with my best friend from college. We spend the wad at a nice spa and get a day of sloughing, rubbing and a facial. Go to wineries and eat out at excellent restaurants. That will hopefully happen this fall.

$12 per month (2 hair appointments at $60 per)

I wait until I am visiting my parents in upstate NY, which I do every four months or so. Get the best haircut that I have found (and I tried some of the expensive salons around here) for $25 from my mom's regular place. Only in DC does a passable haircut have to cost $150.

You thought you were a miminalist! This is probably more money than I have spent on my appearance since I graduated from college twenty years ago. I was blessed with pretty easy, manageable hair and I look terrible in anything but the most minimal make up, but I generally look fine by spending less. I have lots of money to spend, I just don't care about these things. If grooming is your hobby, go ahead and spend. But I bet you would still look nice if you eased up a bit.

This is the thinking that leads to eating disorders and poor self image. The idea that you need all kinds of appearance altering services and lots of money to look good. That just taking good care of yourself and your appearance naturally means you are ugly or don't look good. Maybe $60 averaged out over the year. I pay $25 for a cut every 3 months, $250 for a straigtening treatment every 9 months, and maybe $15 per month on make-up, shampoo, etc.

Yes, I'm another PP -- I have straight, long hair (not too long) and only need to cut it once or twice a year. Also grows pretty slowly. Looks very shiny and smooth, so I don't have to do much.
