I see a lot of snark and some telling it like it is but not that much nastiness. occasionally I will see a real nasty comment but most of the time i realize that my nasty-o-meter is not as sensitive as other peoples.

Also, one person's snark is another's nasty. Some of the comments strike me as funny. Can't take everything so seriously.

Develop a thick skin, OP. And use the report button. I've reported nasty posts, and they have been deleted. So at least Jeff does respond now and then.

The reason it's so nasty is because it's not really moderated. It takes a lot of time to remove nasty posts, and there are so many of them here. Also, it's "anonymous" so people think they can hide more easily. Of course, nothing on the interwebs is anonymous, but that's another issue.

I have received very useful feedback from DCUM posters, along with horrible snark and just plain nasty, stupid, ignorant or just plain vile, angry posts. You just have to report those nasty ones, and ignore them.

I've also gotten good links and good information here, so I keep coming back, even though I get disgusted at times. I swore off DCUM for about six months, but I needed some info fast, so I posted again, and then I got hooked again!

There are some very nice, intelligent posters here, OP. The rest, well, that's life....
