Yep. I make about 95K w/a Ph.D. That's with 5 years in a Ph.D. program followed by 4 years postdoc at 2 different institutions, including one Ivy. In my last position, I was making 50K, in an expensive area of the country. Most of my peers in tenure-track positions make ~60-70K. We're in it for the love, I guess.

Making a lot of money was never a driving factor for me, but now that we live in DC and may need to do private for high school, I realize that money isn't everything, but it does count for something. Luckily my spouse is doing okay (2 degrees including MD, makes about ~185K), so we should be able to make that happen. However, we likely won't be having more than one kid. Them's the breaks.
