Obviously everyone has a different tolerance for risk, but it's silly to claim the risk is zero. Driving down Glenbrook yesterday, I saw signs in both directions that say "If you hear the sirens, shelter in place!" Now, maybe that's just out of an abundance of caution, but it's real.

I think SV is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. However, I just couldn't stomach the idea of living over munitions. And even if I thought the risk was small enough to undertake, I'd worry about how this would affect resale value.


This is what happened with us. Our realtor (with TTR Sothebys) handed us a waiver they wanted us to sign. DH (an attorney) handed it right back to her. We didn't consider any more houses in SV.
