Quoted pp. Maybe, but not all. I had an 800m/780v when I took it in early 2000s.

I'm self employed. I do what I want, when I want. Income is about 100k/year in a LCOLA.

I used to get 6 holidays and 15 days of PTO per year as a government contractor.

After getting sequestered out of that job (kids, don't turn 50), I eventually found work but no sick leave, no holidays, no vacation. It's not mandatory that I come in every day but I'm not going to get paid for it.

Staff at a law firm (in a job that requires a law degree, but is not counted as an "attorney" for benefits purposes): 15 days vacation/sick leave combined. Also underpaid. I'm looking for a better job.

Director at large non-profit. Make 130k.

Get 17 days vacation, 10 sick, 2 personal. Both vacation and sick carry over up to max of 6 weeks each. Personal days have to be used each calendar year. In 3 years, I'll start earning 26 days/vacation a year.

Company also puts 12% in my 403b, fully vested from day one.

And reading all these posts makes me doubly grateful I don't have to track or worry about whether I have enough days or hours (!) to take time off when I need or want it.

Unlimited pto is usually a scam. Illegal in California. I used to have it. Unlimited was almost equivalent to none if you wanted to keep your job.

Not where I work. Everyone takes vacations and the time they need to deal with their sick kids. Plus major holidays.

Do people take a long weekend here and there or do they take a week or two week vacation every summer?

Both

20 vacation days, plus 10 paid holidays, summers off and two weeks around Christmas and New Year's. Unlimited sick days.

But my pay is terrible.

While teachers may not be the best standardized test takers, they are often the most dynamic in the classroom,
helping to keep the kids attentive, engaged, and learning.....not that your slam is relevant to the topic at hand.
Many with high standardized scores would be eaten alive in the classroom, if faced with the challenge.

Working for the same company for 19 years.

24 days PTO, 9 holidays, and "disability sick leave" that you accumulate at 80 hrs/year. (it is short term disability insurance, really; need to be out for more than a week or be hospitalized). In my first 17 years with the Co., I did not use it. Have used it three times in the last two years, after major surgeries.

4 weeks vacation and unlimted sick time. Personal days at the discretion of your manager. 4 float holidays.

I've been with my company for 17 years.
