Um, kinda!

LAMB knows what it's doing and you don't. There are plenty of people who would be happy to take your spot if you don't like it.
Wow. Just wow. Never said anything about not liking it or not knowing what they're doing. Just thought it would be nice to meet people, that's all.
Clearly there are a couple of super trolls on here. Please ignore them!! I'm trying my best to do so also. I know, it's really disappointing. But they might not even be affiliated with the school (let's hope).

If LAMB existing parents are all as bitchy as the ones on this and other threads, though, I'm honestly scared to even start. But I'll happily meet other new folks and hopefully not everyone is like this.
Also - FWIW, the school we just switched from has a series of late summer play dates which started last weekend organized by the PTA. Some may not be able to come but I heard no complaining! I really hope I didn't make the wrong decision
You literally won the lottery and now you're complaining?
Yes this. Also if you're this annoying, my suggestion is Virgina or private.

We're super excited about LAMB and just eager to meet others since this is our first kid entering pk3. Lots of other schools have had their summer play dates, so why is it so hard to imagine we could have one too? I get that the weekend before school makes sense for a lot of reasons, but if there's enough interest in meeting up before that on August 12 let's do it. Naysayers can sit this one out!

Keep in mind that this year LAMB's first day of school is a good bit later than nearly every other school. And there is a tradition here of doing this kind of event just before the start of school. The school you switched from has different traditions, apparently. Not better or worse, just different.
What's happened in the last couple years at LAMB is people all meet at a park, and kids wear a particular color representing the community you will be in. Makes it easier to find people you might want to introduce yourself to first.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. It will be fine.
