Subject: best primary/middle school for highly intelligent kid
MCPS magnets are definitely the most academically challenging. We looked at both magnets and private schools, and chose a private school for the logistics and social aspect.
The magnet schools draw from the entire county so the bus routes start early and may require a transfer depending on where you live.
Also, we felt the magnet was just a little too intense for our child.
We did luck out in that our current private has been great with keeping our child engaged and challenged.

Tip for kids pretending to be parents - grownups don't reference current pop musicians as a gifted/genius. Next time pick someone from the 80s or 80s or someone who is an academic high flyer.

How's Feynman for social development? And given that it's specifically for gifted kids, does it risk making your kid arrogant or feel bad about herself for being different? How does the school handle those potential problems?
By the way, the part of my post about personal experience wasn't an order. It was a request. I find it helpful to understand where someone's coming from. I wouldn't necessarily discount responses based on reputation rather than personal experience.
I don't think that was the thing that rubbed people the wrong way. Case in point.
