Only if you have candy and/or beer.

Doritos and malt liquor...deal?

Ok

Can I join? I can't even get a credit card. I'll bring the boxed wine and solo cups.

YES! Capitol One gave me one for some reason. And they will even give me an auto loan at an ok rate. I was surprised, but it's working out fine.

to be fair, I have bought boxed wine from a decent virginia winery. Boxed wine does NOT need to be seen as low-end.

Neither does bad credit.

Preach.

I have done credit underwriting for a living for 15 years. I have analyzed probably close to 100,000 credit reports. A few notes:

1. I love credit karma. It does provide a Trans Union score every quarter for you (you have to log on an click update). They will have free promos etc (which is how they make their $), but you can opt out.

2. The free annual credit report site will give you one free report with each 3 bureaus but no score. There is no credit score and fico score as a PP indicated. There is a PLUS score, Vantage score, and FICO score. Vantage is fairly new and is the result of the three bureaus working together to create model.

3. In my 15 years of credit, I have not seen one person under 35 (even under 42 is rare) to have all three fico scores in the 800s. Even if a parent added you as authorized user, one would have to have a combination of revolving and installment debt for 10-15+ years to get into the 820s.

4. Many years ago, credit agencies stopped allowing piggyback credit (being added as user of credit card to help with your credit) being factored into your personal score. The account may still be on your report, but the influence is no longer allowed.

5. Credit agencies (TU, Experian and Equifax) do not have to disclose their calculati
I love Credit Karma.
Have you used Credit Sesame??
I'm 40 and my scores are currently in the 830s+ for all credit bureaus. They were 780-800 when I bought my house at age 30. That is despite only having 5 years of US credit history at that point.
You are also not mid 20s and have a spouse who both claimed to be in the middle 800s.

Post 02/19/2014 12:11     Subject: What is your credit score?

I just looked at my Discover statement, and it had me at 820. WOOHOO!

Our scores were both in the mid-700s in our mid-20s when we did our first house hunt, and we were told by the couple brokers we talked to that they were some of the highest they had seen for people in their mid-20s.

I had a blip on my credit record that wasn't me about 10 years ago. My social security # somehow got crossed with someone who shared my first name who ran out on a large sprint bill. It took me a LONG time just to clear that up, and I still don't think it was actual credit fraud/identity theft (I honestly think it was someone who hit a wrong key somewhere along the way). It knocked my score below 700 for a short time - which we only found out when we went to refinance our house after the market collapsed in 2008 and they weren't allowing any mortgages for people under 750 (thank goodness we could do it with just my husband's income and score).

My biggest credit problem at this point is that I can't seem to remove the fraud alert I placed on my cards after the stupid social security mix-up. I can't get any store cards because of it, and it is a massive pain in the ass to attempt to remove because you can't get anyone on the phone at any credit agencies.

I'm in the mid 700s, it's been a while since I've checked. I have a bit of CC debt at the moment so I'm sure that is sucking it more than I would prefer.
