that's too funny b/c you do realize that most bonuses at law firms are in 10K multiples, right? For example, my first year bonus in 2000 was $15K.
also, to the PP who said that attorneys working for financial regulators make too much, they obviously don't know that the majority of these attorneys took 50 to 60% pay cuts to work in the govt. obviously not all govt attorney had the possibility of working at a law firm, but that's what the market actually paid some of the ones who left the private sector to join the govt.
If you really want to be pissed, consider investment bankers who are largely responsible for the previous financial crisis. My SIL got a 100K bonus her first year at a highly prestigious investment bank, but I seriously doubt anyone is worth that kind of money.
