MCPS has no incentive to change. It's not like it's a business that will lose customers to the competition. Relatively few families will opt for private or move to Howard or Fairfax counties solely because of the schools.

I'm sure some people do. But there are too many people who see problems--like overcrowding to name one--and do nothing about it. They just say, that's the way it is instead of emailing, phoning meeting with county officials constantly to get things changed for their school.

well then you go to their house and tell them to get off there heiney's and do what you suggested.

Yes, there are. But for as much as we pay in taxes, we should demand better quality. Not an anti-tax rant. I don't mind paying higher taxes for quality schools. I just don't think the money is being used wisely.

I think there are too many people who dislike MCPS and believe that their opinion and interpretation is the majority, and/or parents who "do nothing" are lazy and don't care as much as they do.
