Logically, they have to know sooner than now, so the AARTs can pull out the "in pool" kids in order to get work samples and info for the GBRS.


Agree.

My kid said they recently added kids to the pull out group. I am sure it had something to do with test results and needing to get the kids seen more by the AART. It is only logical that they have some time to evaluate those kids before all the parent nuttiness starts.

Just asked b/c teacher said 9 days ago she was sure my kid's results would put her in the pool and she thought she'd be we'll suited for AAP. I was wondering if the teacher already knew she was in the pool when she said that.

    Yes. There are two percentage columns: age percentage (national) and local percentage (born in August, and so age percentage much higher).

    Verbal: 131, 97%, 96%
    Quantitative: 121, 91%, 78%
    Nonverbal: 129, 97%, 91%
    Composite: 131, 97%, 92%

    Wow, I totally disagree. At the slow rate they teach math in K-2, this kid could have a lot of aptitude but just hasn't been taught the concepts yet. How many kids are getting outside Kumon and etc that bumps up their math scores who he is being compared to on the FFX percentiles?

    The huge difference on my son's score was the nonverbal section--over 20 percentile points lower in Fairfax than nationally. What's up with that?

    It is strange how much the quantitative percentile differs between local and national, but verbal percentiles are quite similar.
