I felt bad that I went out at 9:30 to do mine! I had already shoveled once that day, but it didn't occur to me to do it again until someone posted on facebook that they were going out to do it now, before it all froze. plus I didn't want to go out there before my kid was in bed, since we were enjoying pre-bed snuggle time.

Good grief. You peeps would never survive in areas with more frequent snow. My dad and most of our neighbors (great lakes town) would be up clearing their driveways at 5am on a regular basis in order to get to work on time. With noisy snowblowers! Fact of life. No two hour delays up there.

See previous thread on shoveling sidewalks- more effective to shovel early. Get some earplugs to have on hand for the next time.

Nothing is rude if it's done for safety. Some people worry. Maybe their child has a fever; they want to be able to drive if they have to. Maybe they will nee to go somewhere in an emergency.
