Op here,

She has a job and makes enough for her clothes, starbucks, and other entertainment so I don't think this could work.

Tie her up in the basement until she complies.

You can't force her

Yes I can actually, until she's 18 I can.

Why don't you force her and see what happens to your relationship...

The flu gets everyone at some point. Luck is not a strategy, and the long term affect of the flu appears to be an increased rate of heart disease.

60 years old an never had the flu. Its her body.

oh no! God forbid you should get sick and have to rest!

sick leave, anyone?????????????????? That's what it's for.

There is a vaccine that can help prevent your becoming sick and needing to rest and using sick leave (if you have it; many don't). Why would you rather become sick and need to rest and use sick leave (if you have it) than get the vaccine?

She refused to get the shot for the past 2 years and says that she feels healthier. In all fairness she has not gotten so much as a cold since then. DH says we can't force her to get one. WWYD?

Glad you husband is sane. At least she has one sane parent.

I think it indicates the opposite. Very poor critical reasoning skills. I would be concerned.

So would simply accepting mom = good critical reasoning skills?

No. Looking at the data and making a reasonable conclusion (i.e., to get a flu shot) would be.

DD, has talked to her doctor about it. Her doctor said because she is otherwise healthy, there is nothing to worry about (and he won't back me up).

She also looked up other things as well.

Exactly what my family practice doctor told me.

Most of you don't even know what the flu is.
