Why? Just curious. We are in Spring Hill district and went to a private as well. Just moved to public.
I'm the 2nd guesser. Our DC was accepted to Sidwell and we love the small class size, the feeling of community, and the kind, nurturing environment that seems to foster a love of learning. Out DC cannot wait to go to school. We (or me, not my wife) dislike paying $35,000 for this, the commute time, and the feeling that outside of school itself, there is a slim chance of 'running into a classmate at the sweetleaf' etc, b/c all the students come from such a broad area. If we were at springhill, I wonder if the sense of 'community' would be better. But, we'll see---for now we're happy, and as time progresses we'll either stay at sidwell or move to public----it just depends on how much the kid likes it.
