OP, from the sound of things, one doctor at one visit mentioned pre-e and induction. Talk to your ob at your next appointment, but it sounds like at this point you're just borrowing trouble. Being pregnant increases your anxiety about a lot of things, but monitoring bp, protein and labs is all you can do right now. Take a deep breath and try to relax. Good luck.

LOL ok, I will.
how gross.
also, I'm not going to get an epidural unless it is required. If it's only an induction, which at this point isn't planned yet, and I don't need magnesium, I'll be able to walk around - this is what I hope for.

That was me. They told me I couldn't see him while on mag, because I couldn't be disconnected from all the monitors to go to the NICU. After 12 hours, they just kept pushing the time back and back and back. I was like a caged animal. Baby was in the NICU so couldn't be brought to me, and L&D wouldn't let me go. I was to the point of wanting to check myself out AMA just to get to see him. Inova Fairfax. Still haven't quite gotten over it, obvs!
Why was your baby in the nicu? Sorry you had to go through that.
They had the nicu team in the room when my baby was born but she was deemed good to go and she stayed with me all of the time. The only real issue was that I was not supposed to be left alone with her for long periods while I was on mag - not an issue for us as my husband had already planned on staying the whole time.

The stories of smoothly going inductions without epidurals made me feel better - my husband said there's no way he would let me be induced without the doctor giving us a legitimate reason, and he would try to have it held off as long as possible.
The good news is that in the shut down, I can get to the doctor more if they want to monitor me more without worrying about my job.
I don't think that I'd be a candidate for magnesium, but I am definitely going to ask under what conditions I become one.
