I'm 35 years old and I would not date someone 50 or older (I am married anyway so it doesn't matter). It's more a lifestyle issue. I want us to be reasonably matched in future years, in terms of physical health, interests, etc

Based on my personal experience dating in my late 20s, if the girl is reasonably attractive, educated, nice, and open-minded, then she would consider dating a man in his 40s, but only if that man is above-average accomplished in life. But even then, there are a lot of girls that age who just think 40 is too old no matter what. On the other hand there are also girls (*raises hand*) who for better or for worse like to date men who are older. The sweet spot for them would be around 25-30, because then the guy would be 35-45 and not yet OLD old. But most likeley even these girls are going to have a pretty big pool of older dudes to pick from, so you better have something to offer ...

I don't usually date those who are less than 10-15 years older than me. Just a personal preference.

Yes they do remind me of a 50s couple. Gender roles are a little more ingrained for example. Before we got married my then boyfriend (now dh) and I used to visit them almost every weekend and he was very impressed with how my mom always did everything in the kitchen and served coffee etc and my dad sat on the sofa watching soccer (just like his parents, they're from overseas too). He thought it must have rubbed off on me! Ha!

I'm another PP whose parents are also young. My mom was 20 and my dad was 22. Not religious and not ghetto. No they weren't professors or doctors but they had finished college and were gainfully employed. I was born in Hungary and back then and there most who got married did so by the time they were 25. Oh and I was a honeymoon baby to boot.

Married young, started having kids immediately. If you got out of your neighborhood more often, you'd know that some people live differently than you without being derogatory about it.
