I'll take the Econ 101 crowd over the server farm drones any day. But hey, if you want to boogie on down with the obese, anemic, Brooks Brothers plaid popped collar crowd, rock on to "Sup-er-na-tu-ralllll".


The server farm drones contribute far more to the economy and our quality of life than a typical Arlingon resident, who merely subsists on redistributed tax revenues.

There are trailers and large classes in Fairfax too - especially all the ones close to the N.Arlington Schools. Chesterbrook just added two more trailers this year and it has the highest or one of the highest class sizes in the county (25.9).

Arlington Magazine is not a reliable source of information, nor do its reporters have unfettered access to school administrators in different counties. It's mostly an excuse for house advertisements by Arlington real estate brokers. Of course they will try to make the local schools sound good.

Langley and McLean both have higher SAT and SOL scores than W-L, more National Merit Semifinalists, and higher GreatSchools and US News ratings. Marshall, Madison, Woodson and Oakton are also typically higher ranked than W-L.

I live in the W-L district and don't fear reassignment to Wakefield at all. I have no doubt that my children's home advantages will serve them well whichever Arlington high school they attend. It beats me how upper middle class, high educated, comparatively privileged people have become so pathologically insecure.


I'm fairly certain half of W-L will be sent to Wakefield, and some Yorktown to W-L. Wakefield will finally get more upper income students to balance out the income disparity between county schools. I suppose we'll find out this year.

11:22, I agree with a lot of what you said. But you have to agree with the comment about too many people who wonder how ANYONE could create ANYTHING as awesome as Santana's "Supernatural." That isn't caused by commute preferences. It's caused by choosing to live as a golem. Not a peer community for my kids. Noooo thanks.
