If it's for statutory rape, I don't care nor should someone be on a list for that.

according to the sex offender page he was charged in 2007 with Indecent liberties with child by custodian.

So he may have been an 18-year-old camp counselor who kissed (indecent liberties means no sex) a 16-year-old camper. But even if it was something much more sinister, the point is, if that's his own child he is picking up from school, no one is getting hurt, certainly not your child or the children of other parents.

Orrr, he could be a lot worse than that. Better be safe & talk to the school. Too many people are afraid to say something, which is what allows pervs to keep going.

That's fine. You can disagree. Statatory rape isn't rape though in the actual sense of the word, that's all.

It's illegal for a reason. People are getting hurt.

Oh boy, if you think everything that's a crime means someone is getting hurt I have a bridge to sell you. You should see the stuff that is a crime in Virginia. Some of it is based on a lot of bigotry and hate.

My neighborhood had someone who was registered. He was allowed to live with his family and had a kid attending local school. He was able to pick up and drop off. He was also able to meet with teachers/principal but they would make specific arrangements. He was not able to attend school activities as I recall. At the time they had voting in that building and I remember the issue coming up with regard to that. Since then they have moved voting out of the schools completely.

OP, you sound like a hysteric busy body.

You have monitored this house that’s a registered location for a sex offender and know that there’s a lot of traffic in and out. You don’t know if the guy is actually the one on the list or if it’s someone else. You don’t know if the guy is the father of the children or not.

Get a life.

It could be legal. In some cases, based on their threat level and the level of their charge, they may be granted permission by the court and school to be on the property at very specific times for specific functions.

I found out this is why a friend's husband never attends any school or sports functions. She always gave very flakey answers as to why he never came and that made me suspicious. I have a very suspicious nature because I'm in digital forensics. Anyway, I looked up the registry and found him. His charge is for indecent exposure in the second degree. Based on the state, that charge comes from displaying genitals around minors under age 16, and based on the date, he would have been 19/20 when it happened.
