No they don't. Louise Archer kids (at least when my son went there) are split between 3 middle schools Kilmer, Thoreau (non-AAP) and Luther Jackson. They also attend at least 4 different high schools -- Marshall, Madison, Langley or TJ. Those options may have narrowed with the new centers opening, but not by much.

When my dd was in the second grade at archer, there were 2.5 classes, with about 65 kids total.

15 or so ended up in AAP, leaving 2 classes of gen ed, and 15 kids + the kids from other schools in AAP. and 80 kids total from Vienna, Wolftrap, Cunningham Park, Freedom hill and Westbriar and flint hill...there were 95 kids in the third grade AAP...

Too say there are too many kids in AAP at a center school is misleading. There are no AAP kids at Vienna Cunningham park, as they all go to Archer.

But unfortunately, the current 4th grade will remain skewed like this (4 AAP/2 GE classes) through 5th and 6th grade too. It's really unbelievable that there are only 30 GE kids in the entire grade.

Vienna kids slated for Louise Archer AAP for a couple of years have been moved to Colvin Run because of capacity concerns. I would expect that to no longer happen now that Westbriar is a center and Louise Archer is getting less crowded.

Mention on another thread doesn't make the over 50% stat true. I don't doubt that schools like WT have higher shares of aap, but over half eligible is ridiculous. If there are 4 to 5 classes per grade as is the norm in most ES, then there would be over 2 classes of solely aap eligible DCs. Very unlikely.

I realize this is an old thread, but wanted to point out that in 4th grade at Colvin Run, there are 4 AAP classes... and 2 GE. Something is very, very wrong here.

I think the plan may be to move the Westbriar island from Westbriar/Kilmer/Marshall to Colvin Run/Cooper/Langley in a year or two, which would probably add more GE kids.
