Same with us, our treatment was at DF...DH at every FREAKING appointment...for 2 IUIs and 3 IVFs...we commuted together every day to work...and the appointment was on our way to work.

You know...I think the issue is with the clinic's layout...by the sounds of things...not the man being there.
There was never any way a man was in the monitoring area in my clinic, unless he was IN the room with his partner.
At our clinic, I would say my husband's privacy was more compromised when he was making his 'deposit'...than my privacy with monitoring EVER was.

This.

There were many times at SG when both my wife and I were in the hall area where examining rooms are located. Each time we were directed there by staff. The reason ranged from, waiting for a room to be empty, waiting to talk to a nurse and for my own examination. But honestly, what am I supposed to do? When a staff member tells me to sit there, there I sit.

After the appointment, we would get a cup of coffee together and then both walk to work from GW.

My DH went to virtually all my monitoring appts. Part of that was because we were always getting good or bad news re number of follicles and their size (I was in danger of having cycles cancelled at times) so we wanted to hear the news together. But I think DH also wanted to be part of the experience as much as was possible. it worked for us - it honestly didn't occur to us that he wouldn't come with. But whatever works for you.

wow, now i have seen it all! i know women complain about moms bringing babies/children to monitoring appointments, which is understandable given that is what this is all about, but complaining about DHs coming to appointments? you all need to take a chill pill. good for those DHs who are doing what they need to do to support their DWs through the he!! that is IF. there are so few people in this world who understand how hard it is to be IF, especially primary IF, so we should band together and be supportive of everyone in the trenches.

Pp here. Silly ipad autocorrect. . . Meant to say cycle not cyceand mess not mess. Also I don't think there should be this kind of animousity because some partners display support by going to our monitoring. It is the least they can do. Some of us really suffer during the process. This is something I didn't fully appreciate until I did it myself. My other friends who did ivf had very few side effects.

My hubby came with me most mornings during my cyce as a support. I was in a ton of pain crying myself to sleep at night because my ovaries got so big. We both have jobs a d simply got on for the first available appointments we could. Ivf is a journey, the mess are strong, it is incredibly stressful, having your partner there can be a hive source of strength.
