I like her a lot, what I know of her. I think it's weird that people seem to be turning on her lately.

Have never been a fan and don't find her good looking. She's too "good girl" beta looking for me. The false modesty at the Golden Gl. would have worked for a younger, just starting out actress. But, Anne has been acting for years and can no longer act surprised and "up from the bootstraps" in an acceptance speech. I thought her singing was terrible in Les Mis ... it sounded like screaming to me. Didn't mind her as much in the Princess Diaries.

Definitely not average; she's an unconventional beauty. Maybe not everyone's cuppa tea, but I wouldn't mind looking like her at all.

Great comic actress -- loved her in Devil Wears Prada.

Flaky? Smart? Theatre Geek? Humble? Annoying? -- I don't watch awards shows or read celeb interviews, so I really have no idea -- and really couldn't care less what she's like IRL (which, BTW, isn't what you get on awards shows or in celeb interviews anyway).

She's a scenery chewer. There are so many other actresses who do much better, much more nuanced work. She's just hammy.

Can't stand her. I watched the Golden Globes DVR'd and hers was the only speech I fast forwarded through. Actually, that's not true. I fast forwarded through the Les Mis best picture speech too b/c I thought the movie sucked. I'm glad to know I missed her hogging the microphone some more.

I found it so disrespectful when Les Miss was and she took over the microphone again to thank people she forgot and then went crazy hugging everybody eight times. Phony!

Didn't read the thread, but adding my .02. She has a HUGE mouth, which I can't get beyond. Yes, she's basically pretty in an average, pretty-girl way, and she has a bouncy manner, but that mouth drags her down overall into so-so average looks. She's a good actress, though. She was fantastic in Rachel Getting Married.

You guys know she cut off her hair and list weight for Les Mis, right?
I find her annoying but these comments about her hair and weight - it was for the role, people.

No one can pull off very short hair like Halle Barry, so that's not even a fair standard. I think Anne Hathaway looks good with the short hair and I love Michelle Williams with it. I loved, loved Gwyneth Paltrow's very short hair several years ago.

I get frustrated with the idea that somehow long hair is always superior. Often it is, sometimes it's not. Frankly, I think if that idea were not so popular, more women would have hairstyles that actually flattered their faces.
