I've never gotten a $500-1000 gift in my life. I can dream, can't I?

Engagement ring? Wedding band?

Don't do it! They say it's horrible for a marriage.

Me too! I've never liked my wedding band. I'd like to get one that I love.

Or, a gym membership would be nice.

A new laptop. Mine died last month and I just have t bought a new one yet.

For the person who thought tires aren't a "gift", DH and I usually get something that benefits both of us or something we need for the house as a gift to each other. We still do stockings for each other though.

I'm practical. I'd want the cash. I'd put a third in our retirement fund, use some to go out to dinner and hire a sitter and then take my time figuring out what I wanted to do with the rest. Might use it for indulgences over the next few months-fancy coffees, etc or might get a keurig or maybe a vitamix or maybe just get some new clothes at a department store rather than the usual TJ Max buys.
