HHI:66k
Retirement: 65K (TSP + Roth IRA) + pension

I feel like this thread has been an excuse for a LOT of humblebragging and just plain bragging here...

DH 41 - 350K (note - he will also have a govt pension as he has 15+ years)

Assuming he works for govt another 15 years he would qualify.

And there were also those who lost 50% of their accounts' value practically overnight.

Honestly, these amounts are pretty meaningless. These things are tracked more by percentages of HHI by age.

The total value is also relevant.

To answer some of the followup questions:

Both Feds at he moment, but don't expect DH to be one long enough for a pension. I have already qualified for some amount of pension and have no plans to leave the government.

No debt other than mortgage, which will be paid off in 14 years, before our 1yr old and any subsequent kids are college age. Have about $10k in college savings for her. HHI is $240k but was significantly lower until about 2 years ago when DH changed jobs which is why his accounts are do much lower. Being in a job with matching funds makes an enormous difference.

39. I have no idea. I know that we have the house. I have probably 100K in my single TSP. Beyond that (and there is more) I don't know the amounts.
And, yes, I know that's not good that I don't know.

DH is 50, combined 2.5 million retirement invested, 1 million house, minimal pension, no dedicated college accounts for our 2 young children by choice.

I am surprised by some of the low amounts saved by a few PPs: is this because of student loans? Or because they have assured pensions plans?
We are barely making 6 figures and have done so only recently, but we have saved and invested our money.

That's a nice idea. But it won't happen.

I had to read this few times to get it. Are you taking a loan or a distribution with penalty?
