Me too. They bring up their college all the time. But there are probably stuck up bitches at every school.

Well that settles it then. All students who attend Colgate must be stuck up bitches.

did you mean to say that ALL women who attend Colgate are bitches?

No. There aren't actually too many colleges nearby. At least for kids without their own cars.

Probably true, but there is no one who thinks of Colgate as one of the elite schools of the the NE because there are so many other plainly better schools in the NE (including the Ivies, Little Ivies etc). W&L stands out much more in its region. W&L has better retention.

Where does Colgate rank on the pecking order of colleges for the few companies hiring in Boston and Philly? That "alum network" may be working the night shift at CVS (where Colgate has name recognition second only to Crest) or Dunkin Donuts.

Other than the finance industry in NYC, the Northeast is not exactly the epicenter of job creation. The financial industry knows W&L well. In Washington and anywhere South of DC, W&L is far more well known.

Ha,ha,ha. You've lived in the Mid-Atlantic too long. Your comment that in Washington and anywhere south of D.C. W&L is far more well known is very true. And the south is the epicenter or job creation? Dream on. What college graduate wants to live in the backwater of Charlotte? What a riot.

Colgate is named after the toothpaste guy. It has an interesting history. Located in Hamilton, NY it spun off another well-regarded university, but that university is NOT Hamilton College.

+1

Colgate is more familiar as a toothpaste brand.
