We looked at both wondering if maybe a school more like Wesleyan, Conn College or Amherst that are not so isolated, all part of that "little ivy" network that obviously your D likes and all near or in towns (not as isolated) also all three have endowments of at least a few hundred million, (again this does mean something). We looked at all of them and eventually my D chose one and is very happy. Good luck.
Endowment:
Wesleyan- 688,643,000
Colby - 649,992,000
Bates- 233,803,986
Conn College - 237,035,000
Amherst - 2.15 billion
So Wesleyan and Colby have pretty much the same endowment. Colby and Wesleyan have similar stats on pretty much all measures. Amherst is way more competitive than either school. And Conn College is less competitive. You are really comparing apples to apples in this post.
