French and English are the languages of business worldwide. The others that you mentioned, maybe one or more will be one day, but that isn't here.Anonymous wrote:Why some parents want their kids to learn French, and I mean specifically French. I get Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese - or other languages that a large population of people speak and can be helpful as kids get older and have careers, etc...but for some reason learning French has always been en vogue and I never got it.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

And why do drivers stop at traffic lights leaving 1-2 carlengths of space between their own car and the one in front of them? Particularly when it means I'm right behind them and can't get into the turn lane that's opening up right next to them?

Me first, what's up with black women who don't shave their legs? It doesn't bother me, and in fact, I am friends with, and have known a few women who don't shave but they have always been a.) white b.) a hippy or gutter punk type or c.) gay. It always throws me off when I see a very well groomed, attractive and nicely dressed black woman with hairy legs. Why do you do it? Is it personal preference? Laziness? Some sort of political statement? And it's not like they are trying to hide it either. . .
You would be surprised how many men find hairy legs attractive. It's supposed to mean you're really good where it matters.

Lack of experience. They are planning on turning left and change lanes in advance. And they cannot estimate the distance (in case of stopping at car length).
I sometimes leave extra space in front so that I'll have room to go around the car in front of me if necessary, but I never block the entrance to a left turn lane if possible.
I wonder why people who are in a right turn only lane and not turning right--when they have plenty of room to move their call all the way into the next lane--only go half way and block people behind them from moving up and taking a right on red.
