The problem is OP is posting in anger not as a public service announcement. If she were truly concerned, she would have said Black Range Rover with private school sticker. To take the time to describe the woman in such detail and then name the school speaks to someone with an axe to grind. There are crazy drivers everywhere in Metro DC. (Don't get me started on the lunatic cyclists!)
Unfortunately, there are few if any, school crossing signs or crosswalks on that stretch of River Road. The fact that Norwood, Holton Arms and Primary Day are in such close proximity doesn't warrant a public shaming any more than an erratic driver on 270 or Wisconsin Ave.

It was purposely put on the Private School board because people that either did not get in or are somehow offended that their public school is not good enough post here all the time with rude and outlandish stuff.
A mother with a SN kid can't even post a question to get her child help without the rudeness and arrogance of posters like OP.
I am guessing you are having a really bad day. You really need to get out and get some fresh air. If you are referring to the posting regarding maret and Special needs, for the most part, there are lots of good post regarding people's experience and what she should do.

That is a sick response to the tragic story that the PP related.
I appreciate the OP's post. My child attends WES (yet another school on that stretch of road), and at least twice in the last year, someone has been hit by a car where the Crescent Trail crosses over River Road. One woman was killed. I have told my child never ever to attempt to cross the road near her school because of the completely insane way that people drive in that area.
Why can't we all just slow down? I personally do intend to report any speeding drivers with stickers on this site in future. It matters less to me whether drivers feel shamed than whether another mother has to identify her child's body by his dental records.

I am a Norwood parent, and I see nothing particularly wrong with OP's post. I think it's a warning to all of us, wherever our kids go to school and whatever we drive, to drive more carefully.

This is certainly more of a private school issue than a public school one because parents of private school children are far more likely to drive longer distances on a daily basis to get their children to school. If we went to the public elementary school, we would usually walk, we could drive (less than 2 miles away, though), or we would be eligible for the school bus.

No breakneck speed in NoVA, ya'll are all sitting still all the time on I66, Rts 50 or 7 and, of course, the toll road. The Greenway folks are paying to sit.
I live in NOVA and very rarely go on these roads. It is a much less intense in Fairfax. We rented in MOCO and decided to buy in Fairfax. Life still has stresses, but it not like it was.

Look--I don't think anyone wants speeding drivers but we live in the era of nastiness and this sort of thing could be made to hurt an innocent person. Also..what about the other people from Norwood who own Range Rover cars with brown hair. Are they going to have to deal with some sort nastiness when they didn't do anything. Probably a better thing to do if this was so dangerous is to report to police and let them know where the car is traveling and give them their plate id.
