Let me guess - any other time of day would also be inconvenient for the OP?
Well, let's see, obviously 12-1 and 6-7:30 are out, since some like to dine al fresco in nice weather (or even eat with their windows open). Then there are those who like to have happy hour on the deck, so 4:30-6 are out. And lots of kids nap, so 1-3 is unacceptable. And of course, there are lots of kids who still have 2 naps, so 10-11:30 we simply MUST have quiet. We've already established that before 10 is too early.
So . . . looks like acceptable lawnmowing times on the weekend in OP's neighborhood are 10-12 and 1:30-4:30. Of course, if she happens to leave the house, the neighbors should use that time to mow. In fact, OP, you should tell them your weekend schedule, and ask them to confine lawn maintenance to the times that you leave the house.
By the way, I think people bitching about others mowing during kids' naptimes are unreasonable - but that's a LOT more defensible than OP's silliness.

Because anyone who is loud and boorish enough to blast their gas powered lawnmower at that time, is never going to have the self awareness to see the boorishness of their behavior. And hell, if 4 or 5 boorish posters on DCUM think it's fine to do this, then that must be the status quo and thereby acceptable. I disagree, and I know you'll just carry on being boorish louts no matter what I write here.
This level of narcissism is really quite spectacular. OP, you post something, many (most, actually) responses believe that you're being unreasonable, and your take-away is they're all nuts, and boorish louts to boot? Not one second of self-reflection? Yikes.
I think everyone on here would have totally agreed with you if you were complaining about a 7:00 start time on a Sunday. But 9:00? You really see NO room for a reasonable opinion that it's OK for a neighbor to start her day at 9:00?
Oh, and now it's not just that you wanted to sleep late, it's "other may be meditating, reading the paper, enjoying quiet time at 9 on Sunday." So now your neighbors need to make sure lawn care doesn't occur when someone in earshot wants "quiet time?" Oy.

I'm not disputing the law here. I'm just speaking to common curtesy. If you don't get what I'm saying here--well, you just don't get it. And you probably are living a pretty selfish, f*ck you, sort of existence--one PP even said f*ck you to me--oh, the irony.
Some people live efficient lives, especially older folks who get up with the sun. They really don't sleep until 9am. I understand you consider it rude to mow the lawn at 9am, and I suppose that's an issue with the "me" generation that you're part of, but you're neighbor probably thinks you're rude and lazy. I don't know what to say. You're fighting a losing rant. Your vent is selfish.
