La Choy!

Free government cheese. I love cheese even as a kid. So all the old people have my mon their share. I was to little to know where it came from and now hard cheese scares me.

I tried this a few years ago and it was gross. I also loved "Deviled Ham," which came in a small can. I have no idea what it is and I don't want to know. Also Hostess pies and honey buns, and the eclairs from 7-11. Although I suspect I'd still like those Hostess pies.

And +1 for Chef Boyardee anything. I always thought Spagettios were disgusting.

I call BS on people claiming that white bread makes them sick today. You may not eat it, but it's clearly delicious. I suppose I can see the argument for wonder bread, but if toasted, how could it be offensive except for the carbs.

I still love Cool Whip.

Read this, it will make you sick too.

17 pages of the free preview weren't enough to tell me anything. Can you summarize?

Yuck! I can't believe we ever ate like that, or drove home so drunk for that matter

Hah! I used to get the "nachos" with the spicy melted "cheese" and "chili" in that same circumstance. To think, I thought it was an advantage that you could put as much of that disgusting hot cheese on as you wanted. I want to retch just thinking about it.

I agree with PP that I now feel better about what my own kids eat! My personal list includes White Castle hamburgers, Steak 'ums, tuna noodle casserole, franks and beans, "snowballs" (hostess snack cakes covered in marshmallow and colored coconut!!), and fried bologna. I do admit to still enjoying many of the sweets names in this thread - starbursts, sweet-tarts. I always hated white bread, btw.

PP, most of the posts I see refer specifically to Wonder Bread, which although being white is unlike typical white breads.

Fudge stripe cookies....oh man I still love those things and always in the fridge. I agree that spaghettios tasted so good as a child but they disgust me now and my kids won't touch them.

I agree with all of this except I never liked white bread. the cheez n crackers things were called Handi-snacks when I was in high school. I used to have one of those and a nutri-grain bar for lunch. GAG. I cannot believe I ever ate that way. And I loved Chef Boyardee canned ravioli as a kid. The sodium, the mystery meat ... gross! But I loved it. I would probably still enjoy a honey bun but I would never eat one.

I am now realizing how even though I feel like I fail them nutritionally every day, my children are eating way better than I did, at least so far.

And I do still love Cool Whip. That's been the one white-trash staple I haven't been able to shake. Pumpkin pie without it -- why bother?

Twinkies, fruit roll-ups, girl scout cookies. Ok, the girl scout cookies don't make me sick, but I don't like them much.

and I can no longer eat a ton of icing ... I used to have an iron stomach. Now, after a few bites, I have to stop.

Cotton candy

Twinkies, Hohos... I coveted anything Hostess. Now it just tastes nasty.

This, definitely. I'm pretty sure Spaghettios were always shit, I just didn't know any better.
