Not sure if you are the constructive firing poster on the other thread but how do you know of your impending firing? The Feds usually propose a plan for improvement over a period of time and document your progress (ie, CYA). I know it may be difficult, but maybe you can stick it out for as long as you can, stay under the radar and toe the line. Use that time to file your EEO claim (they can't fire you for filing a claim against *them*) and find another job. If you don't find one and you get fired, collect unemployment while proceeding with your claim.

Sort of depends on what you plan on doing next and the circumstances. Hard (though not impossible) to get unemployment after quitting; you can get it after being fired, even if you sucked (they will deny if misconduct or gross misconduct depending on the state); try to negotiate severance.
