My kids like the pizza, and I don't mind it if I'm in the mood for it. I mostly go for the house dressing.

It expanded greatly a few years ago -- I think franchising -- and not all the locations are as good as the older ones used to be, unfortunately. I do like it, but I've had some unfortunate experiences at some of the locales.

I love their house dressing, too. The pizza is just ok. You have to be in the mood for it.

Love their lasagne and wings. Never had their pizza. Ours is very clean and has a wonderful staff.

I LOVE THEIR HOUSE SALAD DRESSING. The herb parmesan one. Anyone have a copycat recipe?? That stuff is the bomb!!

Pizza is just okay. But, I'm not a huge pizza lover.

But the salad dressing.....

I am a NY pizza snob and finally recently tried Ledos. I kept an open mind going in, knowing to not expect "pizza" but really hoping to enjoy it for what it was. I did not enjoy it at all. It's just not something I would want to eat, and I pretty much like anything covered with sauce and cheese.

Oh and another interesting place is the Corner Pub in Silver Spring, 4 Corners area, across Colesville Rd from the 4 corners shopping center. Their pizza is a clone of Ledo's as supposedly the old man who makes the pizzas worked for the original Ledo's for many years. I really can't tell the difference between Ledo's and the Corner Pub!

I can also vouch for Luciano's in Herndon as I lived in Herndon for 12 years and this is the place in Herndon that I went to when I needed a pizza fix. Very classy, friendly restaurant!

I know this is an old thread, but I have something to say about this subject. Born and raised in University Park (I think someone referred to this as that town next to College Park...lol).

Ledo's is definitely a unique pizza not in the NY style. Comparing Ledo's pizza to NY is like comparing apples and oranges. Some people do not like Ledo's style, but I personally love it and enough in the DC area loved it that it seems to have franchised successfully. I agree the original location is the best and that includes after the move to College Park. I'm partial to the parmesan bread appetizer that is only served at the "original" location. For all you NY style pizza lovers, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Three Brothers, which is also a Maryland (PG County mostly) franchise. I like the Greenbelt location (Beltway Plaza) because of the raw bar, beer, and excellent pizza. Both Sicilian and Neopolitan are offered and delicious. I also LOVE their Calzones immensely! Many others love the Italian Boats and their salads are superb.

I love both Ledo's and Three Brothers, and would have to say that my favorite dish from all of these is the Pepperoni Calzone from Three Brothers, smothered in their great marinara sauce, sprinkled liberally with oregano, garlic powder, dried red peppers, and parmesan...mmmmm!!!

To the Laurel Ledo's lover: come on, man! Pasta Plus is right down the street and the pizzas aren't even pricey. They do take out. So, so good.

I said we don't do the pizzas (don't like the pizzas). We go for the pastas and sandwiches. As for comparing with Pasta Plus, we go most often for weekend lunches when we're out and about. Pasta Plus does not do lunches on weekends. Been there for dinner and they're good, but doesn't fit our schedule as often.

To the Laurel Ledo's lover: come on, man! Pasta Plus is right down the street and the pizzas aren't even pricey. They do take out. So, so good.
