Clinton caused 911 due to sacrificing defense and intelligence funding for a surplus in government funding.

note the chart and how bush fixed the first recession even with the double wammy of 911 and .com crash. obamas policies or just the perception in the business world of obama had caused the economy to go the wrong way
Everyone hated bush and blames him for everything, when we look back at this in 20 years we will learn obama was the problem and bush was not bad at all

First, Bush actually did not finish the 911 business. President Obama did. Remember, our friend OBL survived the Bush 2 Administration, despite 911 being his deal. BTW. No Americans were killed during the Obama authorized mission to take out OBL. As for Iraq, Bush created that mess, and did not get out of that mess. BTW. Afghanistan and Iraq were among the longest wars in US history. Pretty impressive record on the part of Bush II. WWI and WWII were shorter for us.

Second, Presidents take office in late January. One can always debate when a President should be responsible for what happens in the first few months of his Administration. But, using February 1, 2001 as the starting point for the 8 years of the Bush Administration, Bush II resulted in a net increase in jobs of only 1.1 Million. That means over the 8 years of Bush 2, there was a net increase of 1.1 Million jobs. That number includes both private and public sector jobs. If one focuses on the private sector only (ie, the proper Republican view presumably), the 8 years of Bush II resulted in a NET LOSS of 500,000 private sector jobs. Now, one might say that Bush II realistically can't be responsible as of February 1, 2001, which was only a few days after he took office. Okay. But, if one uses some later month like March, May, June or July 2001, Bush II's job numbers look even worse. The first part of 2009 produced huge monthly job losses. The fact is that 1.1 Million net increase in jobs is the most favorable measue of Bush II. BTW.

As for the dotcom crash? When he got to office, the NASDAQ was at 4500. When he left it was at 1700. Since Obama got in office, it has risen to 3000.

Bush was the greatest wealth destroyer in the history of American politics. Tanked both stock markets, tanked the housing market, got us into two wars, added 4% to unemployment, added $4.5 trillion to our debt AND his tax cut is the gift that keeps on giving.

I wouldn't say he's done nothing. To name a few things that I appreciate: Got Osama, ended "don't ask, don't tell", getting troops out of Iraq, removed restrictions on stem cell research, balanced the Supreme Court.

Not to say I approve of everything he has done/is doing (nor have I with any president), but I disagree when you say that he has done nothing. I also disagree that he is turning is back on Israel- how is he doing this exactly?

Just want to note that the explosion in outsourcing government work to the private sector is a pure function of post-Reagan GOP policies. We've heard forty years of unrelenting anti-government propaganda in that direction, and it's worked. Huge bureaucracies are going to have some inefficiencies. The only thing less efficient is decoupling any other consideration but profit from the system.

Most government agencies are meritocracies to a great extent, and have a mandate to provide a public service. They answer to elected officials. They're not money-making ventures. Private contractors exist purely to extract wealth from the government. And that's a right-wing innovation.

I am in it gov contracting also but have more self worth because i could be employed in private or whatever market, it skills should be portable unless you suck
