Obama's earnings were mostly ordinary income - his book and his job. Therefore he pays a higher rate. If he didn't, he would probably be breaking the law. He doesn't get to decide his tax rate any more than you do.

Kerry's wife pays a lower rate than Romney. Kerry and his wife file separately and Kerry pays a considerably higher rate. Common sense would tell you that Kerry has a salary and, as such, couldn't get away with a 15% rate. Regardless, Kerry was criticized for his wealth and portrayed as being out of touch. Plus, he lost.
In the immortal words of Barney Frank, I haven't lived a good enough life for Gingrich to be the Republican nominee.

Obama is:

b) a Muslim; or
c) a member of a racist anti-white church.
Please pick one and stick with it. It's tiring trying to keep up with your contradictions.

Rich, Gingrich and crazy rich
Which presidential candidate paid the most in taxes? Who is the most charitable?
Here's an inside look at the top candidates' 2010 income tax returns.
I look at that $20k in alimony from Newt's return and I just shake my head. Those greedy exes.
It's sad that I gave more in charitable contributions than Newt Gingrich. What a loser, the dude made so much more than I did.
