A 5 year old boy can pull off uggs and toms, but it's not going to fly with the 8 and up crowd.

This. Uggs have been around forever and have always been unisex. I saw them for the first time on my decidedly un-fashionable father-in-law 15+ years ago. DH and I thought it was hilarious when his dad's weird shoes started to get trendy.

My 5 year old son picked out both Uggs and Toms for himself (along with other "fun" boots/shoes). I think it's great that he can express himself however he likes. I haven't heard of any teasing in his K class. There is another boy who likes to wear pink and even wore a princess costume for Halloween so maybe the teacher has been encouraging open minds. Sounds like some DCUMers need to go back to K themselves to learn this...

Just spent a week in NYC. Never once did I see any boys or men in UGG boots. Sorry but they are girly.

I am a man and I have a pair of Uggs. I don't tuck my pants into them and they are black so I don't know how you would even notice. I have worn Uggs since the 1980s.

It's totally fine for your boy to wear Uggs! You really shouldn't get hung up on the boy/girl thing! For one thing he is a little kid and little kids don't care or notice. Also the Uggs are not necessarily girly. If a girl wears them I guess they are, but a boy is a boy unless he is girl, so what a boy wears is boyly not girly.

But, if you convince yourself it looks girly and you are hung up on wanting everyone who comes in contact with him to approve 100% of YOU then I guess you could say they are girly. That said, aren't you actually a woman? Weren't you a girl when you were a kid? You don't need to be ashamed of that... Being a girl is just as good or cool as being a boy. Being girly is great and looking girly is great too. So you should be proud of your boy whether he looks boyly or girly!

My 7 year old has his own style I mean he's like a RockStar guitar playing child to like a little homeboy on the basketball court. He wears Jordan's lebrons jerseys skinny jeans are his only jeans but with jerseys or the infamous UGGS AND A NECKLACE WITH A CROSS WITH A SKATEBOARD. his style is just amazing everyone in our " preppy " neighborhood loves it. I was reluctant to bUY the uggs he insisted I believe children should wear what makes them feel comfortable it help with their self esteem. Of course to a certain extent. Any way he has uggs gray there scuffed up like someone else said on this thread. He choose grey he looks cool. Kids said there for girls he said NO. Oh and I forgot to add that he also has long hair. He's mad cool with his own style. Don't love UGGS ON HIM TO MUCH, BUT MUST ADMIT HE ROCKS THEM WELL N LOOKS COOL AND FASHIONABLE.
