I hadn't read his thread until today. I only read it because Maria said that the OP mentioned her husband's name and that I should remove it. I decided to read the entire thread in order to see if the name was quoted anywhere. I got all the way to the message quoted above (the one suggesting the post was a fake) without doubting the thread. I thought the poster above was wrong and I was a little angry at the suggestion. But, I've learned that some posters can spot fakes from a mile away. So, I looked into it and discovered the list of messages that I posted above appear to all be from the same poster. So, my basis of believe the post is fake is the clear indication of major sock puppeting in the thread.

Are you kidding? This was so obviously fake. I was reading it with disbelief that so many people were falling for it. You think her friend just happened to recognize the post on DCUM? So that requires that you believe this sequence of events:

1. Friend gets call from Mark
2. Instead of rushing over to friends house, friend gets on DCUM, recognizes her friends post and posts a response
3. Friend then goes over to her friends house and uses her laptop to post more responses

Really?

Made up. Ugh. I picture some lonely fat old lady who lives in a hoarded house with a bunch of cats... doesn't even have kids or if she does, they're gone.

I didn't jump to the conclusion that it was fake, but once the neighbor started posting, especially from her neighbor's computer, I thought that did seem a little off.

Well that's just messed up. On another board I read, someone recently made up a whole story about how her dog mauled her toddler. I guess some people have a desperate need for attention. Sad, really.

I realize that the "neighbor" is supposed to have been posting from the OP's computer, but that doesn't explain how the "neighbor" managed to post from the OP's computer before the "neighbor" actually got there. The following posts were all from the same IP address and computer. If someone wants to convince me that this is all some sort of big coincidence, I'm all ears. It is nice that you all absolve the child who did the pushing.

I can't say that I would go looking for the child, but if I happened to see the child I would approach the caretaker and let them know what happened. Perhaps they weren't there or nearby -- if it had been me and my child pushed someone (she doesn't so far), I would have rushed up to help. And I would want to know that my child was behaving this way, so I could do some checking in with teachers at school and watch more carefully in general to make sure this behavior has consequences -- time out, take away toys, you can't go to the playground if you can't share/hurt other people/aren't a good friend, etc.

And in the OP's position, I would definitely have my moments of wishing evil on the child who pushed my DC -- I wouldn't be proud of it, and intellectually I know better, but I'd have them.

OP -- hoping today is a better day, please post when you have a moment and let us know how DD is faring.

OP, I'm so sorry. That is horrible, and hard not to be able to be with your DD because you need to care for your twins.

If you're anything like me, you'll keep letting the incident play over in your mind and just be gripped with a mix of fury, shame, and sadness every time you imagine what happened to your DD. Easier said than done, but try to let it go. Your 3 year old certainly will. Kids are resilient, and when I think of all the dramatic accidents my cousins and I were involved in as kids (life on a farm, much of it unsupervised) I am reminded of that.

Certainly I think it would be wise right now to focus more on your own children and worry less about the perpetrator-- that was the right thing to do in the moment, too. Hope your DD is home in your arms again soon. Don't punish yourself mentally!
