I'm a guy. Boots on ladies are hot. When I see you in boots all the other clothes come off and I can see you standing next to my bed.

Plus, while it's miserably humid outside, my office is frigid.

+1. I wear blankets, multiple sweaters, thermal socks, fingerless gloves and a hood at my office desk. In August. This is why we're fighting wars in oil-rich countries, because we're wasting a colossal amount of energy refrigerating everybody.

I don't see how boots and a skirt keep you warm in the winter. Wouldn't pants be much warmer?

Ladies, get your boots on! You can even wear boots with skirts and dresses in the corporate world. It's absolutely acceptable as long as it is appropriate. It's boots weather!!!

Really? Where do you work that you consider this unprofessional?

At a law firm. But i would consider this unprofessional looking in most corporate settings.

OP here! As requested, I stopped by to give you your Boot Wearers' Forecast (BWF).

Saturday: Absolutely! Morning and afternoon is the time to flaunt your brand new ones, as PM showers are expected.

Sunday: Yes ma'am!

Monday: Bring it.

Tuesday: Pushing it. You could get away with it if you absolutely must, but don't expect my approval.

Wednesday: Back in the closet. Once it warms up and the sun comes out, you will be hot.

Thursday: NO.

Friday: NO.

She looked like an over age silly wanna be Barbie from the 60's with go-go boots and shorty shorts. There are very few women who could pull off that look. The ONE that comes to mind is about age 20, not 50 with kids, dropping them off at school! Consider the circumstances people. Dress accordingly. If you don't want to embarass your kids, don't. If you don't care, then that becomes your problem.

But to laugh IN SOMEONE'S FACE, as you put it, is just a result of bad upbringing.

No. You see, if she doesn't care--then it is still just your stupid, vapid, shallow problem. See what I did there?

I wore boots last weekend, under my jeans. rainy cooler day, so totally appropriate. but this warmer weather has me a little confused as to what I should wear to work. it feels wrong somehow to wear summer dresses and sandals to work when it's technically fall, even if it is 80 degrees. I don't necessarily WANT it to get cold soon, but it would probably help my decision-making in the mornings.

Damn I was not on DCUM for a week and I missed this thread!

I wore skinny jeans and tall boots this weekend and sweat my ass off. OP has a point...I was pissed I did that because I sweat throughout our entire dinner. HA.

That's easy -- Labor Day (unless its a wool "winter white").

But to really laugh in her face? I don't care how ridiculous someone looks, that is just bad manners.

The high-heeled tall boots need to go back in the closet permanently, until they come back in style. OUT!
