51 and mom to gorgeous 2.5 year-old (donor egg) and 12 year-old (conceived naturally). Went to clinic in Argentina for second (medical travel) and saved $$$$. Got lucky, too, on first try! A true miracle! Husband is 4 years younger. Not sure that mattered, though. We are both exhausted and exhilarated with trying to keep up with both kids and their activities while working full-time, "high-pressures" jobs, but we would not trade it for the world!

We've been married and had to put off TTC for a few years due to a health issue that required considerable attention (including 12 surgeries in 7 years). We conceived by IVF and are using a surrogate due to immuno-suppression and not being able to carry. We know that we'll be confused for the grandparents, but are happy to finally be having a family! One of the benefits of being older is that we had the financial stability to afford the IVF and surrogacy without crippling ourselves financially (and the costs were HUGE).

Happy to say that we are now the parents to beautiful twin 4-week old twins. And despite the heartache of a double miscarriage along the way and as my mother put it, spending the cost of a small house, we cannot be happier. They complete our lives.

So wonderful to read that - congratulations to you!!!

almost 52 with an 8 1/2 yr old. conceived naturally. Having a young child makes people think you are younger than you actually are. my opinion

Me too! Miracle of miracles..had my now 6 year old at 44. Fertility. Only wished I'd left more time to have at least one more. But you know, it isn't bad having an "only" I worry at my age how I would have kept up with two. I'm tired now!
