I love that advocating against mocking someone's home (no matter how tacky and awful you think it is) is considered being on a "god damn high horse." Sounds like you have issues with a lot of things.
Here's a thought for when you see something that might not be to your taste: try to imagine the homeowner with the pink house, or the eagles or whatever as just the proud owner of that home. Who knows, maybe that homeowner came to this country and that is their idea of "the American dream." Why don't you just stop mocking and let them enjoy their dream. Choosing to view things this way is the definition of good taste - what you seem to do is the definition of no taste.

There is a LOT more.. I'm a new poster... and cannot believe that no one has mentioned the palm trees yet. I believe they are fake, because palm trees don't grow in Potomac in the winter. Yes there are colored lights at night lie you are at Disneyland! And there is a sign that says, "Casa D'Amor"-- it is a love nest! This is all right past Congressional Country Club before you get to Potomac Village, on the right as you drive on River Road. But you can't miss it.

Yes, I can't believe I forget about the palm trees. This house is very bizarre. The house that was there before was a very cute yellow medium sized old-potomac style farmhouse. It certainly did not look anything like a tear down. They started building the big ornate gate which looked so odd around the house. The gate construction went on for well over a year and then stopped. A good amount time passed before they tore down the house and built the monster.

This one wins the prize for most bizarre and out of place but there is a new rival on the size front further up on River Road right before Potomac Village. The height makes all other buildings look like Legoland buildings. Why only have one two story great room when all rooms on each floor can be two stories? It looks like a museum not a house.

Not all of Potomac is McMansions. If you drive up Piney Meetinghouse-road to the 10-35K sq foot houses right before Glen Rd there is one old hold out with a chicken coup right in the front. I'm sure at some point someone will tear down the chicken coup and build a Piazza but until then I like seeing the chickens.

Some PP's, when you start going off on certain things, it rubs me the wrong way and you come across as really pissed off. This tells me you have failed in so many ways. More ways than I can imagine.
