My DS lower school REQUIRES parents to put the sticker on for carpool control. Sorry. Not everyone who has a car sticker is trying to brag.

I think it is obnoxious....

What about the parents who wear their kids' school's logo on their clothes? I mean, it's ok I guess at a game but I think it's weird seeing a mom with a school shirt or hat on. I can see it if she actually went to the school - that's actually kind of cool but it seems really over invested to wear your kids' school logo. I have no problem with stickers on cars.

I so agree with this! I think they are all just tacky. It's no different than having a "My Child Is An Honor Student At..." sticker on your car. The worst are the little stick figures of family members. Or the variations of "OBX". Just so incredibly tacky.

And yes, we do have the dealership remove whatever sticker they have on a new car when we make a purchase.

It's a car, not a bill board.

11:24 Let's not overthink this. Of course two children at two schools merits two school stickers if school stickers are your thing.

What I don't understand is the attitude of "don't put a sticker on if it's for an elite school". I can respect the families who say they don't want to put ANY stickers/magnets/plateframes on at all - at least that's a consistent position.

I have two DC's, each at a private school. One is at a school that tends to be seen as "elite" - it's a fantastic fit for that particular DC. The other is at another school, less well known, which is a fantastic fit for THAT particular DC. So, if we are not a family which resists all stickers (we already have them on for sports organizations), am I supposed to only allow one child to put a school sticker on? Wouldn't that be sending a message that one school is somehow better than the other?

It would appear that some here equate pride with bragging. I don't like magnets or stickers, but I put on the license plate frames because I am proud of the education that my child is getting and the community that we have become a part of (BTW, this is not an "elite" school in anything other than the cost of tuition; rather it is one of the DC area's several international schools, and the magnets and plate frames are a way for people with the same cultural background or interests to easily connect). Yes, I am proud. If people think I am bragging, it doesn't bother me. That's their problem - not mine.

We tend to avoid doing all free advertising in our family whether it be the dealer where we bought the car, magnets, stickers, etc, etc. And we tend to keep things "clutter free" on our cars too. Magnet went on the side of the fridge
