Birds serve a purpose, yes. One individual bird? Not so much. It's not doing anything it couldn't do a hundred yards away from my house. It's not a bird that will chirp now and then or sing a little song or make birdcalls, it is a bird that just goes 'CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP! ' over and over again, for up to an hour at a time. There is no environmental need for it to be doing that.

What myself, OP, and other sympathizers on this board SHOULD do is ID the bird, and kill every one of them we can find near out homes, or call an exterminator for that.

But, we do not WANT to do that, because we don't want to be killing the little birdies just for being little birdies. So, we're asking how to get them to go be birds somewhere else.

Droning a fan, setting up a horrid white nopise machine, closing the windows and blocking out the sun - these are not answers. We're not going to go all mole-person just for the satisfaction of some retarded bird that can't sing a song or get laid or whatever its problem is. We shouldn't be expected to sacrafice the enjoyment of our homes for the happiness of a pest animal.

Roaches and flies and ants serve a purpose, but I am sure you all would get rid of them if they infested your property and interfered with your life. Mountain lions serve a purpose but if there was one having a nap in your yard you'd be on the phone right away to have something done about it. Someone is going to say they wouldn't; that person is a complete moron and will not die of natural causes.

So, anyway, the reason OP made this thread, and the reason I found it today is because we want the noisy birds to go away and we do not want to kill or harm them. Does anyone have a solution that does not involve hanging garbage in the trees? I rent and have far too many trees around to do that.

I tried an air horn. It worked on the first day, but on the second it just pissed them off and caused more noise.

Get some cats.

Get some bird spikes.

Get a fake bird in your word (this may work only temporarily)

I hate birds and share your pain. Gross, disease ridden animals.

There are these "things" my parents put on their home to detract woodpeckers. (They are flat circles, and about the size of a bagel.) I do not know where they got them, however, you could google it, or ask in a hardware store....

THIS! I suspect OP has sinus problems & pissed off at the world in general.

Everyone who is telling her to get over has obviously never lived with a flock of birds outside their window. Trust me, the noise can be severe. I had this issue at one house. The fact the windows sucked made it worse. Can you seal etc ur windows? Get storm windows?

OP here; during the 2 year interim, I have: gotten an outdoor cat, cut down multiple trees and under-brush and stood under the remaining trees in a rage to no avail. Drilling a hole through 8 inches of plaster and brick to insert a straw to propel blow darts seemed extreme. At first.
