Why cheap? I'm thinking of the fashion on shows like Sweet Magnolias. It doesn't read low income to me (but I'm originally a New Englander).

Thanks all for the laughs. My teen daughters were incensed that some of you didn't like this dress. They really don't care much for my love of green, but they love this dress! They were ready to post and defend me.


I like this one too PP! I don’t necessarily have anything against the style, but some of the dresses just have way, way too much fabric and swallow just about everyone who wears them. This one is more subtle.

Thank you for articulating exactly why I can't wear them either. I'm tall and proportional and they just don't work on me. They are everywhere!

I'm one of the puff/tier haters, but I love this dress. This is not a prairie look at all.

I think the worst thing about it is the color lol. I'm sure it looks good on some people but bright green is not for me.

I am 5’ tall and weigh 110. These dresses would swallow me.
Tuckernuck has been such a disappointment. They appeal to girls, not women. Which is odd based on their target market.


I'm your height and built narrower, most especially through the shoulders. Puff sleeves look like they are eating my head.

Traditionally grown women got the ruffles and poofy sleeves. That kind of dress was seen as womanly. Girls got simple, A-line dresses and straight sleeves because they would outgrow their dresses.

This is all to say women should wear what they want
