You seem to be the same person who wrote this same type of comment yesterday. Your claim is you just walked for 40 minutes with a real feel of 100+ and didn't sweat at all? I think you're either a massive liar or are walking in shade the entire time, and basically a liar.

Right now, the an actual and feels like are pretty much the same at 89 degrees. Ridiculous to keep them inside.
They have to err on the side of caution with the weather info they have.
Erring on the side of caution has made us soft.

We're from northern Europe and would love for recess to stay outside in the winter, though! With enough layers, I feel it's doable, but apparently MCPS is concerned about some kids not having coats.
Haha same I grew up in a cold climate and I don't understand why there is no recess in winter, but today is too much for me!
?
I teach in an ES and we rarely stay inside.
That's really great but at our school kids don't go outside when it's below freezing. So last year the whole month of January their recess was indoors. This year a lot of indoor recess too.
The PP said, "no recess in winter", which was definitely an exaggeration, but even staying in any time it is below freezing seems odd. That's your administrators making that decision. Do they make you stay in when it is "too wet" too?
Yep, they don’t go when it’s wet. we have long stretches of indoor recess after the winter break. Last year many kids spent that using their laptops. Which is particularly sad.
I’m sorry to hear that. In my 30+ years teaching for FCPS I’ve been fortunate to have never been told it’s too wet to go out or too cold, unless there is a wind chill advisory or warning. We even take kids out if there is a light drizzle or we stay out if it starts to rain a bit. The current admin makes a point in school emails to families that kids should dress warmly because students are going out when it is cold.
Did you retire over 10 years ago? Teachers have received a handful of emails from the county/admin over the past 5 to 10 years saying that it was too cold to go outside.
Those handful of emails saying it was too cold to go outside were sent due to extreme cold or wind chill warnings, not simply because the temperatures were below freezing.
Today is a heat advisory and outdoor recess has been cancelled due to a winter weather advisory - both use temperature as one of the contributing factors.

Or their sweating system is defunct. In that case it’s even more dangerous to go out in this heat if you don’t sweat - sweat is your body’s natural way of cooling off.
Exactly! Something is very wrong here - I was sweating within 2 minutes of sitting in the shade. My 30 minute run (at 730 am) soaked an entire shirt.

I grew up fine, and it sad that my kids are not going outside because its too hot. The other day he wanted to stay home and not go play outside when it was too hot. Kids are so weak now T
