Subject: High School bs end of the year projects

I doubt your kid needs to put multiple full days in to this assignment. There will be plenty of time for relaxing.
It’s hanging over our heads for the break. And yes it will be time consuming.
Why is it hanging over your head? It isn’t your project.
Because it interferes with any travel plans we wanted to do.

Then it doesn't sound like BS. It sounds like they will be expected to spend time and effort on it a thoughtful project.

I used to have a neighbor who would come over and talk about all the homework her son had to do all the time. When the kid graduated, he never went to college. Lived in the basement for 7 years. Long story short, the parents moved away in hopes that they could get him a new start someplace. Story unfinished.

At our school most projects are listed on the syllabus for the entire school year. There are very few surprises that come up the week of a project.
